services to its members and the general public that:

- Provide superior opportunities for educational experiences, exchange of ideas and information and,
- Provide members and the public necessary information for informed decision making on planning issues.
- Support and nurture the future generation of planners through active involvement with the Universities and new planners.

Arizona Planning Association is...
The Arizona Planning Association, a chapter of the American Planning Association, is a group of individuals interested in planning for Arizona's future. The membership includes practitioners, elected and appointed officials, attorneys, academicians, and students.
The Association strives to:
- Advance the art and science of physical, economic, and social planning.
- Build public and political support for sound planning practices and policies.
- Provide members with technical information, skill building resources, and exchange opportunities.
Your chapter of the American Planning Association serves you through:
Communication
- Publication of the chapter newsletter, Arizona Planning, providing news concerning the profession, the Association, and members' activities.
Certification and Professional Development
- Sponsorship of American Institute of Certified Planners' exam workshops and preparation guides.
- Presentation of APA awards in recognition of outstanding projects and planners.
Professional Impact
Legislative Affairs
- Monitoring and influencing planning-related legislation.
- Inter-organization Affairs--Fostering cooperation with other professional groups through joint sponsorship of workshops and information exchange forums.
Chapter Outreach
- Improving awareness of the value of planning by offering:
- Chapter membership option to students and citizen planners; Assisting Arizona's communities through a planning advisory and referral service.
